Additional Resources for Health Care Professionals:
The Colorado Rural Health Center's Colorado Provider Recruitment (CPR) program provides a broad range of recruitment and retention services for communities and health professionals. CPR offers recruitment support services to communities, including:
- Posting open positions on their website
- Providing information, assistance and workshops about rural and urban underserved recruitment and retention strategies
- Links to a national recruitment network
- In addition, health care professionals can register to be informed of current and future job opportunities in Colorado. For more information on the CPR program, click here.
Information for Foreign Providers:
Providers that are not US citizens will need two things in order to practice in the US -- an appropriate US Visa and a US medical license. Most foreign physicians trained in the US will need a waiver of their J-1 Visa to practice in Colorado. The Colorado Primay Care Office provides technical assistance and information about how the J-1 Visa waiver process works in Colorado. Please note: the community, not the provider, must request the letter of no objection from the state. Foreign providers can also find opportunities at health centers from the Colorado Provider Recruitment Program where each opportunity listed indicates whether J1 physicians are eligible to apply or not.
