Christy Trimmer is the Community Liaison and Policy Analyst for Colorado Covering Kids and Families (CKF). Christy joined the Colorado Community Health Network, the lead agency for CKF, in March 2009. She is responsible for working with Community Health Centers and CKF’s partners to support their work in enrolling eligible children and families into Medicaid and the Child Health Plan Plus. Christy earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado and a master’s degree in public health policy and management from the University of Arizona. Prior to CKF, Christy did policy and advocacy work to improve the ability of migrant farmworkers to access health and social services in southern Arizona. She also helped develop a school-based outreach and enrollment plan for Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Plan in Arizona. In addition, Christy was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mojocoya, Bolivia, where she worked as a health education teacher at the local junior and senior high schools. In her free time, Christy enjoys spending time with her boyfriend Chris, backpacking and hiking as well as traveling, yoga and cooking. |
